@LEGUESSWHO tips by Carter Adams @windishagency - James Blackshaw, Girl Unit, Small Black

We have asked our favorite promoters, festivals and bands to tip their three recommendations from this year's Le Guess Who? festival line-up. This edition: Carter Adams from The Windish Agency (Animal Collective, Caribou, Gaslamp Killer, Miike Snow).

James Blackshaw (Wed 24 Nov)
One of the most original and amazing guitarists I've ever seen. I used to tour manage, and James was the opener one of the tours I was doing. I would watch him every night, and be amazed by his talent and technique. He manages to coax the most lush soundscapes out of his twelve-string guitar.

Girl Unit (Sat 27 Nov)
Currently one of the best DJs out there. His single "WUT" is probably the best song I've heard this year and maybe one of the biggest tracks since Joker's "Digidesign." Earlier this summer, I flew to NYC to catch him play because he wasn't stopping through my hometown of Chicago. I wasn't disappointed.

Small Black (Sat 27 Nov)
This Brooklyn-based band puts on one of the best shows I've seen in ages. While on record their hazy electro jams can seem slowed down and perfect for armchair listening, their live show is a high-energy dance party.
