Le Guess Who? tips: Kurt Vile & Idiot Glee in Tivoli

Philadelphia singer-songwriter Kurt Vile and Idiot Glee (who performed at Le Guess Who? 2010) will be performing this Sunday May 15th in Tivoli de Helling in Utrecht.

Kurt Vile first emerged in 2008 with an album called Constant Hitmaker. That title has since become Vile's unofficial nickname, and on his new album Smoke Ring for My Halo, it's easy to see why.

Smoke Ring for My Halo is the fourth full-length album from Kurt Vile — and, more importantly, the first since his 2009 breakthrough, Childish Prodigy. The difference between the two records is instantly audible. Where Prodigy was hazy and primitive, Smoke Ring boasts cleaner, clearer production that allows Vile's melodic gifts and intricate guitar work to shine through.

Singer-songwriter Idiot Glee, James Friley from Lexington (Kentucky), will be the support. Last year, Friley played at the Le Guess Who? festival in Utrecht. During the festival, 3VOOR12 recorded some unique sessions on the Neudeflat. Watch the footage below!
