This week: REWIRE festival in The Hague

On friday 4th and saturday 5th of November, REWIRE takes place in The Hague. REWIRE is a new internationally minded festival for contemporary culture in The Hague, The Netherlands. The festival takes place in and around unusual urban venues in the heart of the city. A former office building, a Church and parts of the old Powerplant will be used as festivalsite. The program features two contemporary art exhibitions, audiovisual performances, abstract cinema, artist talks, lectures and cutting-edge concerts.

REWIRE focuses on relations between conventional art and music forms and new recent developments. They are taking a closer look at developments in the avant-garde music and contemporary art scene. By programming certain themes, which will differ every year, we try to examine what relevant issues are evolving and appearing and what this all means in historical perspective. In 2011 REWIRE is exploring i.e. contemporary classical music with a program featuring Nils Frahm & Anne Müller, Peter Broderick & Machinefabriek.

Other acts are Hype Williams, oOoOO, Rustie, Vondelpark, Washed Out and Dirty Beaches. Check out the full line-up at their website!
